Why have running partner

I have been running and racing for ten years, from college cross country to trail running to marathons. I enjoyed the time I ran cross country in college because I trained with individuals who loved running as much as I do!!!  After college it took me a few years to start running again, and I decided that training for my first marathon would be a great way to encourage me to be consistent. I became addicted again and from then on, I kept signing up for races. Even though I met many runners I could not seem to find someone willing to commit to run on a consistent basis with me, so I just keep racing on my own.

In 2012, I met Amelia at work, as we became more acquainted  with each other, we decided to start running together. It was great for me to have a committed partner who was willing to run in the winter time, as I would NOT have had the will power to do so on my own. As we welcomed 2013, Amelia and I decided to train for a half marathon together!

  We did it JUNE 2013!!!

I am happy Amelia and I found each other, training with her has made a significant difference, we pushed each other through injuries, lack of motivations and have become stronger runners!  Celebrating a half marathon finish was been even more rewarding this time around because I had someone to celebrate it with. We now have a long distance running relationship since Amelia is studying in Kansas. However I look forward to see her in May 2014. We will be running our second half marathon together!
